Young Tag Cho (’12) was in Houston this week, and he gave this coin from his unit to Dr. Bishop on Wednesday.   Cho is a Major in the Army of South Korea, and he spent 2010-12 in Houston receiving his MCho's workS in Futures Studies.
He is currently stationed at the new Korean Defense Language Institute where he teaches English on military subjects to officers in the Korean Army.  Cho helped design this coin, adding the vision statement (Beyond Understanding – Toward Cooperation), signifying the unity among the seven languages taught there.  He also created the motto for the unit – Knowledge, Diversity, Logic, Insight – based on the KDLI of the Institute’s initials.
