Two of our certificate program alums, Joel Ticknor and Byron Anderson, have developed and are teaching foresight courses, at George Mason University and U of Wisconsin-Stout respectively.
Joel’s course is “Exploring the Future” at George Mason’s Osher Lifelong Learning Institute. He noted that was concern about whether the course would generate enough interest. A resounding, yes, as he has 72 students in the class, which is one of the largest classes in the OLLI program! Here’s an outline of the course.
Byron has been incorporating ideas from the certificate program into his class design, such as using the framework forecasting method. He is currently putting Foresight content in TECH- 230 Exploring Technology and TECH- 295 Honors Seminar In Technology. Here are some of the futures-related courses being offered.
