Dr. Oliver Markley was recently appointed as a Senior Fellow at the Institute for Alternative Futures. Dr. Markley first started working with our graduate program in 1978 after leaving the Stanford Research Institute (now SRI International), and from 1979 to 2000, he was the Chair of Studies of the Future Program. And while he may have the title of Professor Emeritus and be “retired” from our program, he still checks in with us now and again. I can name at least two instances where I had the pleasure of doing visioning exercises with Dr. Markley as a student at UH.
Of course, Dr. Markley’s probably best known for his futures expertise in interactive guided visioning and enhancement of intuition; enhancement of foresight, creativity, and resilience; and proactive policy analysis. And I’m sure few would disagree that Dr. Markley is one of the finest at futures visioning out there.
Congratulations Dr. Markley!
