NIOSH has been running a monthly Foresight Friday meeting that brings together those interested in the future within NIOSH. The Houston Foresight program ran a training program for NIOSH last year that kicked off its development of a foresight capability. We recently reached an agreement to provide consulting advice to help NIOSH institutionalize its foresight work.
The Foresight leads at NIOSH, Sarah Felknor and Jessica Streit, asked if they could hear from a couple of Foresight students. So on Friday September 24, foresight students Heather Benoit, and Jennifer Tsitsopoulos, presented to an audience of several dozen folks at NIOSH.
Heather led off with an outstanding overview of the Three Horizons model that we are big fans of here at Houston Foresight. Her explanation was so good that I feel like a professor was being born right before our eyes.
Jennifer talked about Anticipatory Leadership. She delivered a highly interactive presentation that got the audience involved and exploring ways to make leadership more future-focused.
It was great to see our students in action spreading the word about foresight. That’s what we’re all about here. Heather and Jenny really did us proud.
