On the night of February 6th at the U of H College of Architecture, Gerald D. Hines Theater, Dr. S Fred Singer delivered a lecture entitled “Climate science, energy policy, national security – and conflict of cultures”.
There was a modest crowd present – a sprinkling of students, an astronaut, a few professors, a LaRouche political candidate, and various eclectic climate interested parties.
The point of the lecture seemed to center around another, natural, explanation of climate changes and a rejection of the idea that CO2 is playing the role of climate destroyer. What I walked away with was that Dr. Singer does not believe that there is a man-made climate change underway, and that he finds no evidence for a rise in temperatures. His evidential slide is based on satellite atmospheric temperature readings.
In any case there is much data on both sides of the issue. See Weart “the Discovery of Global Warming” at:

While Dr. Singer might be found “vehemently suspect of heresy” against the weight of popular opinion concerning man-made climate change, at 88 years of age, in our modern day, he will not have to spend the rest of his life under house arrest (like Galileo). He is free to challenge our assumptions; to ask us to exercise our own intellect; to search for our desired future(s) in the face of uncertainty.
