People are eating alot in 2050. I mean like double what they’re eating now, but there’s more of us so that’s to be understandable. That means we have to be more careful with our ecosystems that will be taking a taking a sizable hit when climate change ears its head espcially in places like West Africa which will see a greening trend coupled with a negative urbanization trend. We may have a zero sum game there I guess, but it at least sheds a light on the fact that global warming is definitely real or so says 10,000 computer simulations. With all that warmth, the air conditioners will be cranking, so hopefully we can pull more from the growing abilities of geothermal (100,000 watts or 10% of what America needs). Regardless of additional help though, experts say we have to ween ourselves off of oil soon, at least 30 per cent more hydro, biomass, wind, and solar by 2050. Good thing the IEA just told us how to get 27% biofuel into transportation needs. Right in time, IEA! Water is obviously lead a big need as demand is to go up 55%, so watch for large public policy to shift to proper water usage. We need to change the pace, that’s for sure. Less on just action, more on targeted action points of conservation and strategic environmental policy like the World Business Council for Sustainable Development says. At least we will have an elevator to space, great Japan!
