The Futurist named Jim Lee’s (Master’s alum ’07) blog post “Investing in the Future of Regenerative Medicine” as one of this year’s stand out blog posts. In the post, Jim discusses a few of the cutting edge companies involved in regenerative medicine and their therapies. Some of the highlights include Osiris Therapeutics, the makers of Graphix, a cellular mesh band-aide containing stem cells and growth factors that stimulate tissue growth while reducing scarring and the risk of infection; Athersys, the makers of MultiStem, a stem cell therapy that could help rebuild the damaged tissue of stroke victims; and Organovo, who are focused on 3D bioprinting tissues without the use of scaffolding.
