Foresight Capability Leader – Idea Couture

The Global Strategy team at Idea Couture is a carefully-assembled group of individuals from a wide range of educational backgrounds, international settings, and professional experiences. We share a knack for looking at familiar problems through a unique lens, and a passion for driving market growth through innovation, technology, and design.
We’re looking for a Foresight Leader to join our team. In this role, you’ll be helping client organizations to understand, plan for, and act on emerging trends in technology, culture, economics, and politics. Today, strategic foresight plays a pivotal role in shaping longer-term strategy, sustainable growth efforts and the competitive preparedness of organizations. Our team works with senior leadership from organizations across the globe to execute on highly impactful applied foresight briefs. From culture and capacity building to building platforms for growth, we are in the boardroom and on the front lines effecting change.
By joining our effort, you’ll be driven to think strategically, collaborate cross-functionally, produce high quality deliverables, grow client relationships, and continuously build and elevate our practice. Along with a strong agency background and keen analytical skills, you’ll have the ability to think creatively and strategically, pushing conventional boundaries when it comes to all aspects of the job.
Responsibilities
- Inspire cross-functional teams (strategy, insights, design, technology) to incorporate foresight into their ways of working and thinking.
- Lead large and complex project engagements for Fortune 500 clients across a range of industries and project types, showing teams how to translate futures thinking into experiences and business reality.
- Design and execute foresight research, synthesis and analysis activities to create provocative and strategic POVs for clients.
- Design and facilitate successful and engaging presentations and workshops for senior executive level clients.
- Support project design across a range of project types and own the end-to-end creation of winning proposals.
- Build a community and team of foresight strategists.
- Other duties as required.
Qualifications
- 8-12 years of experience in futures role in agency, consulting or client side.
- Experience leading a team, building a practice, and creating internal advocates.
- Undergraduate or graduate degree in strategic foresight, innovation strategy, design, or a related field.
- Expert fluency in strategic foresight methods and applications (i.e. scenario development, drivers analysis, critical uncertainties, windtunneling).
- Digital agency and/or UX design experience is considered a strong asset.
- Proven ability to critique, analyze and elevate strategies and ideas.
- Expert understanding of cross-functional resources and working effectively in teams.
- Strong client management and relationship-building skills.
- Diverse strategic skill set spanning industry categories.
- Broad strategy and/or design experience spanning products, services, processes, and systems.
- Proficient in creating experience maps, ecosystem maps, user journeys, service blueprints and rapid prototyping methods.
- Conversant in the principles and practices of user-centered design.
- A passion for innovation, design, and technology.

- Digital Products/Services (UI/UX, Design, Consumer Electronics, IoT, Mobile/Web, etc.)
- Consumer Packaged Goods and/or Retail
- Financial Services (Insurance, Banking)
- Healthcare or Lifesciences (Pharma, Market Research, Digital, Agency, etc)
