About the job

About Chase and the Design Strategy Practices & Partnerships Team

Chase’s Design Strategy practice is growing! This is a unique chance to have strategic influence within a maturing design-led organization (we roll up to a C-suite level Head of Design). We are looking for a future oriented strategist who is excited to work on JPMC’s priority initiatives and have large scale impact across an increasingly complex financial services landscape. As a Junior Futures Strategist, you will deliver foresights that are inspiring and actionable-visionary enough to influence the innovation culture across Chase, yet specific enough to drive toward tangible business outcomes.

If you are motivated by evolving challenges to work on, this is the team for you! As an individual contributor on the Design Strategy & Transformation team, you will be responsible for growing the futures practice at Chase. With the guidance from seasoned futurists, you will exercise your ability to push beyond the confines of today’s world and imagine possible futures that Chase can influence.

Day-to-day, you will keep your finger on the pulse of change, translate signals into trends, build out future scenarios, and guide teams on how to use forecasting and back casting techniques to inform product strategy. You will collaborate closely with creative technologists, product, design, and data partners to analyze possible futures and identify critical gaps across people, process and technology.

Responsibilities

  • Build a repository of emerging trends across social, political, technological, economic, political, and environmental categories
  • Analyze changes across markets, consumer behavior, technologies and translate into compelling future scenarios
  • Visualize future consumer’s experiences using various design artifacts such as UI mockups, journey maps, posters, videos, and tangible prototypes
  • Speculate, propose, and evangelize brand-new concepts within a large organization in collaborative and experiential ways
  • Translate vision into a tangible roadmap: mapping organizational and technological implications and prototyping concrete concepts
  • Partner closely with creative technologists to build working prototypes that bring ideas to life
  • Educate and partner with a multi-disciplined team of researchers, product designers, technologists and business experts on the futures practice
  • Create visual artifacts that capture insights, convey ideas, and inspire new thinking
  • Effectively communicate to socialize, garner support for deliverables, influence roadmaps and build consensus among stakeholders with diverse needs
  • Build relationships across the organization and connect the dots to ensure we deliver cohesive and meaningful experiences for our customers
