An invitation from Dr. Bishop –
I am writing to invite you to join a social movement.
The movement is called Teach the Future. Its mission is to encourage and support educators to include the future in their classes and schools. The goal is to identify at least 1,000 teachers and administrators who use the future in their practice during 2014. Ambitious, I know, but what else is life about?
I announced Teach the Future at the Association for the Advancement of International Education in Boston on February 8. Now the website is ready for people to sign up and join the movement – www.TeachtheFuture.org. And there are Teach the Future groups on LinkedIn, Facebook, Pinterest, Google+, and Google Groups so get involved on your favorite platform. I’ll even be tweeting as @teachfutures. Do you believe that!?
I am interested in teachers and administrators joining, of course, but also community partners who believe that we should be teaching the future to all students in all schools. Partners can talk it up at their schools and in their communities or businesses wherever that may be.
So join up. It should be fun.
