Houston Foresight recently finished a project on the Future of Veterinary Assessments with the International Council for Veterinary Assessment (ICVA). The project came to Houston Foresight from Karen Rosenthal and Donna Harris, two UH Foresight alumni who are both veterinarians and members of ICVA. Along with Karen and Donna, our student team included Sarah Leedberg, Heba Al-Haydian and Brian Otero, with Laura and Andy at the helm.
We facilitated two workshops with the ICVA board of directors over the course of the project, one to determine the uncertainties in our 2×2 matrix scenario formation and the next to ideate implications and action responses to issues.
Some general outcomes:
- ICVA has several initiatives it can work on that will be necessary in any way the future goes
- ICVA now has a north star – a preferred future scenario
- ICVA finds themselves in a position where they can influence the future of veterinary assessments
