The University of Houston Graduate Foresight Program received a Certificate of Accreditation from the World Futures Studies Federation at the Federation’s World Conference in Paris celebrating the organization’s 50th anniversary.
Accreditation of institutes of higher education ensures that postsecondary education meets acceptable levels of quality. In the United States, the US Department of Education recognizes public and private accrediting agencies as reliable authorities to certify the quality of education and training provided by institutions of higher education. The University of Houston as a whole is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, Commission on Colleges. This accreditation ensures that all programs and degrees conferred by the University of Houston meet high quality standards.
Programmatic accreditation provides an additional layer of quality assurance. The WFSF Program Accreditation Council offers an accreditation process that recognizes institutions providing exceptional, world-class foresight education programs. The accreditation process is thorough, collaborative, and supports programs over time by offering guidance and insights for best-practices in foresight education.
The University of Houston Graduate Foresight Program is the first graduate program to receive the honor of WFSF accreditation. Students and graduates of the UH Foresight program can be confident that the education imparted by the incredible faculty at UH is of the highest quality and globally recognized as exceptional.
